RWD/4WD Conversion Spool Subaru STi

Subaru conversion spools are smart tools which convert your car to rear wheel drive or to permanent four wheel drive. This is achieved by replacing DCCD with XSHIFT spool, that provides direct connection of gearbox output shaft and transfer input shaft.

Notice on Using a 4x4 Spool

When using 4x4 conversion spools in place of a DCCD/visco differential, the following limitations must be considered:

It is important to note that if the handbrake is applied, issues may occur. Because the drivetrain is locked between the front and rear axles, you must press the clutch when pulling the handbrake — otherwise, all four wheels would lock.
In Rally2 cars without a center differential, this situation is handled by an electromagnetic clutch located in front of the rear differential, which disconnects the rear axle when the handbrake is used.
If driver do not use the handbrake, this is not a problem. It is still essential to correctly set the brake balance, since during braking, the front wheels may also transfer braking force to the rear wheels through the drivetrain.
Due to these facts, 4x4 spool is more suitable for drag (straight roads) or mud/autocross (permanent wheel slippage). For standard rally, track, and street use, it is more advisable to keep the center differential.

RWD plugs

Convert your STi to RWD easily and quickly to 100% torque transmit to rear axle easily with additional set of plugs.These plugs are used to blind the front axle shafts (front sealings must be removed), and also to blind the hole for the DCCD cable on the middle case.

Kit is suitable for drift purposes, STi gearbox swaps to another RWD vehicles, or as a mod for 2WD dyno tuning.

After installing SHD drop gears also possible replacement for OEM visco differential

Set is great to install with X Shift sequential gearboxes. It can also be installed in OEM TY856 6MT syncho gearbox, or aftermarket dogbox H-pattern kits, so it is suitable for a wide range of customers. Make your STi a drift machine!
