After spending years driving manual transmission cars on track, I honestly didn’t think a gearbox could change the driving experience this much.

The X Shift sequential gearbox has completely transformed our GR Corolla.

The biggest surprise has been the flat-foot shifting. The first time you experience it at full throttle coming out of a corner and charging down a straight, it’s difficult to describe. No lifting, no hesitation, no interruption in acceleration. Just keeping your foot planted and firing through the gears while the car continues to pull relentlessly. It feels raw, mechanical, and incredibly rewarding.

What impressed us most is not only the speed of the shifts, but the way the transmission allows the driver to stay focused on driving. Instead of thinking about the next shift, you can concentrate on braking points, corner entry, balance, and maximizing corner exit speed. The entire driving experience becomes more fluid and more natural.

On track, the car feels more connected, more aggressive, and more capable. Every lap builds confidence because the gearbox responds exactly the same way, every single time. That consistency allows the driver to push harder and focus on finding lap time rather than managing the transmission.

We’ve owned and driven many high-performance cars over the years, and we’ve installed countless modifications. Very few upgrades have changed the character of a car as dramatically as this one. For a dedicated track car, this has been one of the most enjoyable and impactful modifications we’ve ever experienced.

Developing a sequential transmission that can withstand the demands of serious track use while delivering this level of performance is no small accomplishment.
